Sprouted Designs product line consists of hand screen-printed kitchen flour sack towels, napkins, totes, children’s apparel and paper products. My husband and I hand screen-print each item with my original designs in our St. Louis Missouri studio. I craft every design by starting with a real object, an avocado, a bunny rabbit in my yard, an antique whisk, etc. Using the actual item as the beginning for my designs lends them a beautiful yet simple lifelike quality.
When selecting blanks to print on I only use high quality items and try to keep my sourcing as local as possible. The flour sack towels I have made for me in Michigan. They are a nice heavier weight and unlike standard flour sack towels they are hemmed on all four sides and I’ve added a hanging loop. The majority of my paper products are made from 100% recycled paper from the Michigan based family run hydro powered paper mill, French Paper co. The children’s apparel I source from made in America companies and most of the items are made from organic grown cotton.
In the printing process I use environmentally friendly water based inks that have a wonderfully soft feel on the fabric. I also take great care to properly heat set the inks onto my products to ensure their long lasting beauty.
